Finally some rain
« on: April 17, 2009, 03:12:56 PM »
We are getting really solid rain here in E. Tx, and according to the weather map earlier today, our place N/E of Del Rio got some solid rain amounts as well.  How is everyone doing in your part of the state?

Was gray and overcast here all day and the bottom fell out around 1800 here in Southeast Texas. It was raining so hard on my way home from Beaumont tonight I had to drive really slow at times.

We've had light rain on and off all day today here in Eastern Oklahoma.   I was planning on planting my garden, but more rain is expected tonight and increasing tomorrow with hail.  :-\

Got almost 2 inches in east bexar county, 15 minutes east of san antonio.  My coastal fields are finally growing!  I have been watching the deer eat the new growth on the mesquites.  Should have some better weights and antlers on my deer compared to last year.  Jeff

We got six inches here in West Texas during this rain..........What, you don't believe me?  I personally measured the water marks in my driveway and can affirm they were, in fact, six inches apart! ::) ::)

I've taken two trips up to my lease in Kirbyville in the last week to do some work and there is standing water everywhere, the pipelines have hundreds of yards of 3-4 inch water, creeks are high, got plenty of water filled redwing boot syndrome.  very muggy to say the least and the mosquitos are pretty bad.  I've seen some beautiful snakes, they are out bigtime.

I've probably seen your house.  I live in port neches and fish primarily in sabine lake. but I had a buddy in Vidor that loved to put in above the saltwater barrier and bass fish all up the river and village creek area.  there are some very bassy looking spots but we averaged 1 or 2 fish per few hours   :o
I know there were one or two instances of people disappearing up there last year, I don't know if they ever found that one dude.

Yep , the swimmers on the sand bars get lost every year, I'm thinking the bar caves in with them and burys them at the same time. We launch at four oaks ranch road above the salt water barrier all the time.
