Rick. If there's a manual with it red it first. If not make sure its unloaded, then figure out how to take it apart. If you shoot ML your going to have to do this to maintane the gun anyway. Mostly just take the stock off the barrel, bolt out of the action, and breachplug out, you said you got the tools with it. Then run a couple off patches thru the barrel with what ever liquid you choose, I use mostly windex now. If you going to shoot now don't oil it . If not make sure the flashhole is clear, grease the breechplug threads install it tightly, assemble the bolt, put the stock back on. Then cap the rifle point the muzzle at the ground,snap a cap this lets you know that everything is clear. Remove the spent primer. Measure it up any where from 70gr t0 100gr of BP or a sub, like Tripple 7, Blackhorn 209, Pryodex, are easy to get still. Pour this down the barrel Remember 'It's Powder, Patch,Ball and you can't go wrong." next push the Ball, yours will like a sabotload, or a conical ball down on top of the charge, all the way down, you don't want and air gap between the charge and the projectile. Point it down range install a primer on the breachplug. Shoot have fun and enjoy. You really only have to clean the gun right away if you shoot BlackPowder. Cleaning is washing the fouling away. Breachplug out, Spray some cleaner down the barrel, push it through til the patches are dry and clean. Clean the bolt,breachplug.Grease the threads, install, wipe a oiled patch down the barrel and it's ready to go agin. Have fun adjust the powder, projectle and primer to find what shoots the best.
