 dont know if this is the right place fore this  ???.. how long will powder last got some win 296 that is a few years old.. got a few more kinds of powder that is a few years old.. been in a air con house way from heat and sun light.. is it still good thanks WORM

Potentially if properly stored it will last longer than you do. It sounds like it has been properly stored so it should be just fine.

Just smell it. When powder goes bad you can tell by the smell. Loses it`s nitro smell and go to more like a rotten egg smell but not that bad.

Keep it cool and dry and you will most likely shoot it all long before it goes bad on you.  Extreme temp swings, high temps and moisture will abreviate the shelf life considerably.

short of filling the jug with water i dont think you could ruin powder in 2 years.

I had one seldom used can that lasted 30+ years. It still shot fine when it finally ran out.  If stored properly there really isn't any practical limit to the shelf life of smokeless powder.

Alliant has some original Bulls Eye powder that is kept in distilled water.  Occasionally, they remove some and test it against current production.
