How do these shoot compared to the .22Mag Sportster?

There are only 2 that I know of, mine and now gendoc's. Both were rechambered by the same gunsmith and it seems we have each had the same luck with them. Mine actually shoots as good and perhaps a little better (if thats possible  ;D) than my .22 WMR sportster that I use for coyotes and sometimes crows. Now it seems that history has repeated itself with gendoc's fine shooting .22 WMR Versa Pac, which shoots even better than his "sleeper" 10/22. These reamed out VP barrels are fantastic with the ammo they like. There are many uses for this combo....<><....:)

you are entirely welcome gendoc, and welcome to the club, there are two of us now.
With the 50 grain JHPs, or my favorites, JSP's, there is not much these fine compact guns could not cleanly take with an accurate shot. There might even be some use for solids out of the gun. A great barrel along with a 20 gauge in a pack for survival, foraging, or camping. You can carry a lot of .22 WMR ammo with little weight, and with a Survivor stock set on the reciever and the storearm forearm there is plenty of room to carry what you need....

I must have missed the beginning of this  odyssey , am I correct that the 22WMR was re chambered from a 22lr???  If so, why was a gunsmith necessary????   I would have thought that this would be a easy job for one of us gun nuts to do himself.  Just wondering.  thanks   Doug

Doug

Not sure , but I think it has to do with it being such a small chamber that a lathe was needed to keep the reamer true , not a lot of room for error with that small of a reamer / chamber combo .

thats true stimpy,   also a very good grasp of headspace.
i've seen it done on a rossi, which originally it was a tack driver in LR...
but a dog in wmr. it was done by a avid shooter/gun nut, but it was not right..
another thing is the right tooling.
some have tried it with a pistol reamer!!!--NADA!!!!!!

Good info here, there are 2 different .22 WMR chamber reamers, one for a revolver and one for a rifle, be sure you use the right one. Also, headspace should be checked and correct. Sorry to hear of the backyard gunsmith that ruined his Rossi, however gendoc and I both had the same gunsmith do ours and each of ours shoots FANTASTIC!!....<><....:)

andy, she says your next in line!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if them boys would leave her alone long enough, she'd be up for the olympics!!!!
she is honestly, that good....
she has been hit'n hand thrown clays on the rise.... with her vp/lr
and bench'n 1/8" @25yrd-5 shot.
she has many other target shooters, but she likes to prove that.."it does'nt take big money guns to hit the target......
