Have you guys heard this woman sing? It just goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover. Her voice will bring a tear to your eye. She is also a 47 year old virgin. Dale

Yes, she was unprepossessing in appearance, especially in the context of an amateur show. She's a wonderful singer and I wish her well. Her talent needs to be used and used and used.

She is a great singer....and this story is a great story so far.

I thnk it can remind us all not to be overly judgemental or to make assumptions, especially based on things like appearance.

I really do have to say good for her. I think she took care of her dying mother for years. This was the reason she never went into singing. It was her mother that encouraged her to do it. I don't think she did it until she died though. Dale

I hope this woman is able to take full advantage of her great talent. That voice is pure and sweet and anything that can put that look on ole what's-his-name that runs that talent show has got to be very special.

Actually, the lady has a leg up on a lot of entertainers; she doesn't have to worry about losing her looks. And if she plays her cards right, she'll be able to buy whatever look she wants. Her voice and talent are kind of like the opposite side of stupid; no amount of money can fix that and no amount of money can buy that fabulous voice.

I'll pray for the day when this lady's beauty is recognized for the person that she is. Anybody that can try so hard, that can stand up before millions and bring smiles and tears to so many people's faces is a beautiful person in my opinion.

I never did understand the sex appeal that goes along with the music industry. You can't see their faces through a set of speakers anyway.

I watch very little TV so thats the first time I'd heard her sing. All I can say is wow what a voice! And see is very likable. Hope she goes far,and her dream comes true. And I would pay to hear her,which I can't say for very many of todays singers.

Did you look at TM7s link? The woman was very good looking in her 20s. Shame on you Heather. Why is it that women are so much harder on each other than men? Look at what other women said about Sarah Palin because she is too good looking. Whereas the male posters for the most part heard a beautiful voice and a saw keen wit, and were very impressed.

You guys may be nice, but you can't all be blind. Susan Boyles went on national television for the sole purpose of being judged. A big part of the entertainment business is looks. She should know that. I wasn't being mean I was stating the obvious. Sry if I offended. Oh and this may be wrong, but I respected Palin's beauty. A woman that pretty making it big in a man's world is rare, and so is an unattractive music star. Women of coarse, there are a lot of ugly male musicians. I respect Susan for putting it all out there, but in my opinion she is an unattractive woman with a beautiful voice. There is beauty within most people. Lucky for her she can show the world hers, but not until she opens her mouth.
