I hate to say it, but....

Obama is being very well received in most of what he does. I don't remember the early days of the accursed Carter's presidency, so I don't know if he had a long honeymoon period before the country figured him out.

Do you remember the details of the Carter years well enough to shed some light on this question.

The polls for Obama are stable at 90% approval among democrats, and 60% for general population.

heard a poll yesterday that said his approval rate was only 6 points ahead of his disapproval rate . seems some say hei s still  high in the polls but is starting to slip . Then it is starting to show that his ideas are not bring us out of the depression , he is not getting more money to those who voted him in etc. etc.
Timming is everything if things work out maybe the bottom will be reached about the mid term elections and the voters will end this give away of our kids future
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

I believe the polls show that he is a polarizing figure, like GW Bush. Strong unfavorable numbers in the minority so far, but there sure seems to be a lot of passion from the unfavorable viewpoints. I must say, however, the people with unfavorable views are much more civil about it than the people who hated Bush.

I have some advice for Obama that might help his approval rating among those who think he is a poor and incompetent executive.  Yesterday the BBC news reported that the new president of South Africa has two wives but is looking for a third wife who would be more able to fill the role of a president's wife on the world stage.  If Obama was to take a second and even a third wife it would break that multiple-wife ceiling that has so plagued the West.  He is the right president to dispense with this taboo.

Possibly for some state events all 3 wives could do a culturally appropriate dance topless as the president's cabinet beat drums and chanted.

 ;)

As long as one of the wives is male and the other one is an animal of some kind, I think that would work.

My advice to BHO would be to ignore the people of his party and do the right thing.  The George Soros types and other dingbats on the left are his natural backers, but he should understand that getting elected is one thing and governing is a whole nuther thing.  If he wants to be the "third world leader" of a third rate country--just keep going to way he is--we'll get there soon enough.  If he wants to build a respectable legacy, he needs to use some common sense and lead from somewhere to his right.  Of course, if he were to move a mile and half to his right, he'd still be a far left winger, but that would be a heck of a lot better than the track he is on now.

That will never happen.  They got him elected and definitely want to keep him there.

If he wants to be the "third world leader" of a third rate country--just keep going to way he is--we'll get there soon enough.
That is absolutely his goal!!

I think the animal should be a horse. A horse is a beautiful animal and when he's done with it he'll have a ride home.

Preferably the horse is a stud and Obama is on the receiving end.  ;D
