1/2 scale coehorn
« on: April 24, 2009, 01:29:49 PM »
Well, last weekend I was finally able to finish my 1/2 scale SBR coehorn. I bought the tube off of the internet a couple of years ago (I'm a bit slow with my projects).   :)

Here is the tube when recieved.

Here it is completed.

This is the official inspected. However, the inspector is NOT allowed to leave his mark on it....  :D  :D

No worries about how long it took it's the finished product that counts!  ;D

That oak base really came out great, what is the bore size on this?

Intoodeep,  that's really nice!  Love those perfect bead shapes fore and aft on the bed - they are so smooth.  We also want to see it in Cut Bank; just a jaunt up the road from you and us, if fact you, Douglas and us form the "Artillery Triangle".  Nice photo, but your Corgy in the shot looks up-tight, a bit stressed.

If only this dog could talk, he might say to you, "Hey you, yea you with the camera, I'm a little upset as you can see.  Wait a moment until I calm down.  I was strolling over here for the photo op when that tortoise over there, yea that one behind me, snapped, and tried to take a chunk out of my leg!! Yikes, that thing hardly EVER moves, so how can it strike like a diamondback at me?  Say, can you do a right face with this black tube thing and put six rounds on that dangerous reptile, you know, one Long, one Short, and Fire for Effect on old shell-back over there?"

Nice Mortar!

I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets

Thanks all for the positive replies and the Kewpie DD. The bore is 2.25"

M&T- Cody the corgi is actually a camera hog. But, when I went to snap this photo a neighbor rode by on his Harley. You know that corgis have them big ears and do not like loud noises to much. Guess, I should have thought about that noise issue thing a bit more....   ;D  ;D

That's a clean looking job you did on it.

Nice size too. Not a toy, yet not so heavy that it breaks your back moving it around. Now all you need is a cheap source of pool balls.  :)

Well, that has already been taken care of. :D  Below is just one of two bags that I have purchased. You gotta love those yard sales...  :) I think this bag cost $3.00.

(I'm a bit slow with my projects).   :)

Believe it or not, you're faster than I am. You did some fine work in making the bed and hardware, and also in putting the new finish on the tube.
Do South Bend Replica cast iron barrels have a relatively smooth finish when they're originally manufactured?
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Yes, they do have a smooth finish. Paul (SBR) does an excellent job with his products.
