I'd say at the local dealer's store you do the most business with. Shipping for handguns is outrageous and most dealers are gonna charge you to accept it for you anyway unless you already have a really good relationship with them and from your question I take it you don't.

New Glocks are running right at $499 here and used normally about $100 less in good shape.

I know this is a few weeks old, but...

If you join the GSSF program ($35 for 1st year), you can get a certificate good towards the purchase of a LE Glock at the LEO price.  In the case of a G23, that would run you $414 + tax for a pistol with 2 mags.  The catch is that you can only use that certificate at specific LEO dealers (such as Ed's Police Supply in Stockbridge).

I just went through this the other day and got my G34 9mm for $480.  ;D  What was real nice is that Ed's allows you to apply to the GSSF right there and walk out that day with the LE pistol, instead of waiting for 4 weeks while the certificate comes through the snail mail.

PS:  And starting this year, GSSF will allow you to purchase 1 LE Glock PER YEAR at that price - in the past, it was apparently just one in a lifetime.  To read more about it, go to www.gssfonline.com .

Actually, for the G23, 3 mags and stock sights, it would be $398+tax. LEO pricing includes, FF, EMT, military, retired military, and LEO.

Thanks for the correction... for some silly reason, I quoted the subcompact price of $414 instead of the compact.  :-[

These are hard to find.
In my area, I've only found 1 store that had one.  It was $599.  Did not have night sites, but it had a ported barrel.
I've been wanting a 23.
This morning was the first time I've actually been able to pick one up and hold it.
The finger grooves are too small for my hand.  My ring finger fits right on top of the 3rd ridge.  So it's a little uncomfortable.
I still want one though.
Don't they make an after market grip cover?
I don't think I want one with a compensated barrel.
Is this standard on a 23?

No, that compensated barrel is not the standard model 23. The "C" models are the compensated ones, ie, 23C. There are a ton of after-market parts available, grips & everything. Check out glocktalk.com for more than you want to know.

Is there a way to find LEO pricing for their pistols other than to call the distributors?

FWIW I picked up a 23 for my son last week and final price for it was $516. I know I overpaid but it was for his birthday and time was getting short. I'm planning on joining the GSSF soon so I'll get my own at a much lower price.

The LEO price is the same as the GSSF price - the only difference is that GSSF only gets you two mags while the LEO deal will get you 3 (except for the subcompacts - only 2).

Understood.  However, how can I find out what the GSSF price is (sort of calling a dealer/distributor)?

Sorry that I am late here.  Check out post #24 in this thread for the price list: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1047370
