This subject on Vpeep sight`s has been discussed on some of the older post on this site.
Is anyone using these sight`s now and if so would like to hear your current experiences and pros and cons on the use of these Vpeep sight`s. These are sold by rmcsports. Also would be interesting what to see what type of muzzleloader you have this sight attached to.

I have no idea what you mean by "Vpeep sight" and since this post has sat untouched for several days it would seem that no one else knows what you're talking about either. Perhaps you might care to explain?

Looks like they block more view than a regular iron sight or armature to me.

Thanks for the reply! I have a couple of muzzleloaders that I need to put a good sight on as these ole peeper`s of mine are in need of a good sighting system.
The marble arms sight configuration looks interesting, I would assume that these can be fitted on to muzzleloader barrels! Any information on this would be helpful!

I'd suggest you look into a real peep sight, mounting a "kinda-sorta" peep at the open sight location defeats the whole point and purpose of a peep. Check out Williams and Lyman sights online, not knowing what sort of rifle you have I'd bet they have a peep that will work for you. Here's another simple and very cheap peep that works very well. It's just a 10x32 thumb screw from True Value with a 1/8" aperture hole. It is threaded into a 10x32 hole drilled and tapped into the tang. Elevation is adjusted by turning it into or out from the hole and is locked by a jam nut which was actually from a sling swivel set. Windage must be adjusted by knocking the front sight left or right. It's compact and sturdy and doesn't look totally out of place on a traditional ML rifle. Did I mention it is cheap?

Peep sights used to be illegal in PA. Open sights were allowed that is why they made the v peep. I have one on a TC Firestorm and a TC Hawken and they work very well compared to the regular v sight. I can shoot much better with them compared to the factory sights.

My " six cent`s" told me this would probably end up this way!
As I mentioned , I have several rifles that need a sighting systems. Among them are TC Hawken. TC TreeHawk, and a custom made Hawken with two matching barrels in two separate caliber`s. So I might start off with the thumbscrew or the Marble Bullseye. $:-\$

v-peep was made to get around rule of NO PEEPS IN PA HUNTING as said by others here.

i mounted my v-peep back in front of frrizzen or back as far as it can go towards you eye.i had gunsmith drill hole there and mount it.

v-peep works much better in that location than where original sights were.it works real good there.v-peep does let more light in than a peep sight towards dark.

now, here is the bad things about v-peep, you cant add a insert to site as you can with peep sight BUT it is fine for hunting and shooting target way it is.also v-peep is not a click type of adjustment like the peep sights,you loosen a screw and move it, no problem.

i hate the peep sights that mount back real close to eye on wood,the v-peep looks real nice in front of frizzen,makes gun look like a gun not those peeps back by the tang area.

take v-peep and set in back as far as you can which will be most likely next to frizzen,just sit it there and look down your barrel, i think you will be very happy .

ps, mine is on T/C HAWKINS .50 CAL FLINTLOCK

Just curious Sproulman, why is that. Is it because the sight is too close to the eye for your liking, or because of the mounting in the wood thing?

looks of it is all,closer to eye is best with peep,just does not look right back there and to me takes away the PC type of look of a flintlock.

i have 7 peeps on my guns some back in the 1930 area that dad left me.look at that peep from COyOTEJOE, homemade and looks REAL NICE in that location on tang but back farther ,it would look bad elevated up in air with something holding it.

v-peep in front of frizzen looks real nice to the look of gun and is back far enough to work as peep should.
