Well, like I've always said buy American!!!
I'm somewhat dissapointed in the SPR22/30.06. The stock is cut where you almost have to mount a scope to see the sight. With iron sights, I can't get low enough to see them or get a sight picture(I bought it for an iron sighted close quarters gun). Also, the stock on the rifle I now have has a cast off or on(bends to the right after pistol grip from the wrist to the butt. The front sight is a screw for elevation and ther rear is in a somewhat dovetail. The barrels didn't come regulated. Instructions in their manual don't explain it very well either but, the left barrel is pinned at the front sight base and the right is fitted loosely for adjustment or regulation? Recoil pad is the hardest I've ever witnessed. Both triggers are attrosious, very long and heavy. Shot it 40 rounds, yesterday, but, with the non scoped stock and heavy long pull triggers, accuracy was nothing to call home about. Couldn't get low enough to shoot off the sand bags and with the toe of the stock sticking into my shoulder, I can tell today, just where the stock was yesterday. The wrist (pistol grip area)of the stock is so long that it just doesn't feel comfortable in my right hand.
If I decide to keep this gun I'll change the sights for something I can see and the stock for something I feel fits me and with iron sights?
Don't know what I can do with the front sight yet but, maybe have a dovetail milled to accept a fiber optic insert and higher rear(maybe a Lyman that fits a BP gun).
Don't know if they've changed the stock dimentions after they left Remington but, would definately be a plus(this would be the first thing I'd do to this gun).
