Things I like about my country
« on: April 26, 2009, 12:56:54 PM »
1.  Democracy it aint perfect but it is the best available.
2.  Freedom of religion. And I am not a very religious person.
3.  Right to keep and bear arms.
4.  Freedom of speech. We live in a country that guarantees you the right to badmouth it.
5.  Our men and women in arms. Greatest fighting force the sun has ever shined on!!!

Now for the personal side of things.

1.  Mom, greatest human on the planet, hopefully everyone thinks that way.
2.  Dad, he passed away in Feb. but he still guides my path.
3.  Sis, pain in the butt but I love her still.
4.  This forum, wouldn't have happened in some countries in the past.
5.  The fact that my ex wife is......is my ex wife.  ;D
6.  My toys of many different calibers and guages.
7.  Jennifer Aniston  :P :P :P Sorry couldn't help myself.

I understand the angst out there but give me some good stuff. You gotta have something you are happy about.

This forum would not happen in many of today's present countries!!!!!!!!!
I am happy things are looking up for my family and I. I spent the weekend at my boss's brothers house building a roof over their back deck. He has a lot of money. He fed us well. I had a 1 1/4" thick steak. It was over a pound!!!!!!!! :o ;D ;D ;D Then we had corn on the cob and a baked potato. I just have to say that was the best eats for me in many months.
My boss gave me a unexpected bonus today. I worked 9 hours Saturday and 6 hours today there. He said he would help me out with the gas. He give me $350.00 today for those 2 days. For that I am thankfull!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D I am just plain happy right now. I am tired but happy. ;D Dale

This is a fat country.  Every year at CHRISTmas my wife her three sisters and brother sit down to dinner.  There are five ex NCOs among us at that table, all viet nam era.  My father, his father, his grandfather, his great grandfather have all stood in defense of this country.  Also all of my uncles and most of my cousins.  This is my pride.  It is my privlege to have served.  What I like about this country is knowing that me and mine have been allowed to stand for what we belive in.

1. We drive on the right side of the road.
2. No one has had to come save our bacon yet(although the French did assist in our revolution)
3. We have in the past and hopefully in the future the best economic and manufacturing system in the world.
4. Freedoms that most in the world envy and hope for.
5. A plethora of diversity that really enhances our prospects in the future.(if we dont kill each other before we realize our potential.)
6.A history of remarkable sacrifice by the young to save our country inspite of the older politicians.
7. The Mississippi River and its tributaries. Nothing comparable in the world!

The opportunity to dream and to go as far as your talents and hard work will take you.  (You can even do it legally and honorably!)
CIVES ARMA FERANT - Let the citizens bear arms.
POLITICIANS SHOULD BE LIMITED TO TWO TERMS - ONE IN OFFICE AND ONE IN PRISON.... Illinois already does this.

What I like about this country?

1- The beauty that GOD bestowed upon it.
From the two ocean shores to the gulf to the great north west.
There is so much diversity in this country that there is something for every taste.

2- The fact that it is still a free country to do as you please (as long as it's legal).

3- That our forefathers were smart enough to give us the US CONSTITUTION that allows us to have our freedoms in all it's forms.

4- The chance to live my life and raise my family in such a wonderful place.

5- To live where so many have died for our freedoms and the young ones in our military who are still defending our ways of life!

That pretty much covers all aspects as I see it!
Wouldn't want to live any other place in the world!!!

I will stand for your rights as my forefathers did before me!
My thanks to those who have, are and will stand for mine!
To those in the military, I salute you!
