New Ruger LCP... first impressions... WOW
« on: April 26, 2009, 12:57:21 PM »
Hi Guys:

I just bought a new Ruger LCP post recall #371. I bought it from one of the auction houses as a package deal with a Crimson Trace Laser, 3 boxes of shells, and extra magazine.

Well I took it to the range with me yesterday along with a new Taurus Judge .45 LC, a new Glock 27, my trusty car gun a S&W 3913 9MM, and my old deep cover backup Raven .25 auto. LOL Hey this little sucker shoots also.

Let me tell you that little LCP SOB out shot them all at 7 + 15 yards off hand as far as accuray was concerned. It may be the Crimson Trace Laser, but I ran 4 different brands of ammo through it and it gobbeled them all up, no problems.

Weighing in at 12.5 ounces, including Kel Tec pocket clip,  LOADED with six rounds of Buffalo Bore 90 grain HP's @ 1,175 FPS this load is hot. It also shot Lellier & Bellot, PMC Starfire Gold, and CorBon DPX  80 grains @ 1050 FPS GREAT!!! I was doing head shots off hand at 15 yards.

It is so light and small you can clip it in your back pocket, your front pocket, small of back, I can even clip it on the inside of my pants in the front and you can't see it.

On the not so hot side the sights are really small and hard to see, but as a last ditch defensive weapon it may not matter to you. The Crimson Trace works GREAT!!!!

One other thought when shooting the hotter .380 ammo, this little bugger will sting your hand a bit, and that Looonnnng trigger pull takes a bit getting used to.

But it is my constant companion from now on. Just my opine on this one.

I'm trying to convince my father to put a Crimson Trace laser on his LCP. His tri-focals can't handle the tiny sights. I have the CTC lasers on my Glock 26 and Taurus 605 and I love them.

Mine too. And I'll echo everything you said about it. Sweet little gun.
