I used to have a Crosman 2200 ten pump pellet rifle, most of my sparrow hunting was done with only 2 pumps. I bought a new Benjamin 392 a few days ago and the instruction manual says to use at least 3 pumps as they say it will jamb inside the barrel if I use less. I tried using only two and it works ok, the pellet does not have as much penetration as three.
I got a book on pellet rifles from the library and the author says that he used as little as 2 pumps with his Benjamin for velocity testing. Have you guys with your Sheridan-Benjamins had luck with only 2 pumps?
Thanks.
