crossbow target?

I've recently taken an interest in crossbows, well I've always been interested, just not enough to actually buy one. Now I think I'm ready but in considering all the stuff I'll need in addition to the bow and arrows I will need a target to stop those arrows. There are lots on the market and all sound great in their advertising claims but what is actually the most cost effective target that will surely stop an arrow without damage  and will hold up in the long run?

I use a bag target that I got for about $50 and it has held up for several years, I am not getting pass troughs so it is time to replace it.

Do not use a B.H. with the bag targets just field points and you should geta  few years from it.

They are  easy to remove the arrow. Most of the foam ones are tough to rmove the arrow but with a lot of them you can shoot B.H. and field points.
Get what you can afford and have fun with it

I have always made my own from styrofoam board used in building houses ( the pink or blue stuff, not the white beaded stuff). I stack enough layers to get 8" thick (how many layers depends on the thickness of the material) then duct tape it around the edges, pin on a target and have at it. It effectively stops both field points and broadheads from both my old Barnett Demon and my buddy's Horton (model unknown, but 150lb draw, same as my Demon). As a previous poster mentioned though, it can be difficult to pull your bolts back out of these, even with field points. It's worse yet with broadheads.

I use two different targets from Gander mtn. their off brand type: a bag type for field points, had that one about 4 yrs. now and its getting bad; a square foam type for broadheads, had it two yrs. and still going strong.

Thanks for the replies folks. I got a "Yellow Jacket" bag target on sale from Cabelas and it seems fine for my needs. I've only shot a few arrows so far because I still need to work up the muscle power to cock my bow!

Seem like great targets, but good lord they are expensive.  For that price I can buy three targets, made with similar material, at my local Bass Pro Shop.
