Hello all, I'm new here. I just picked up a Rossi single shot 223 for $179. (thin barrel) So far I'm pretty happy with it. After scrubbing the barrel with some bore paste and about 20 rounds, cleaning every third shot, I took it to the range to sight it in. At 50 yards I put 3 shots in about a half inch. At the 100 yard range my first group was around 4 inches! After adjusting the gun on my rather unsteady rest I got my group down to about 1 1/4" @ 100 yards. Is this typical grouping for these guns? I've only got about 40 rounds through it so far, am I expecting too much? This is my first Rossi AND my first .223, so I don't know what to expect from it accuracy wise. I'm wanting to hunt some groundhogs at about 250 -300 yards out.
