Dominicks soda can mortar in action
« on: May 03, 2009, 04:22:50 PM »
It doesn't really show but it was raining.
I can't reach the ground anymore that's why I was shooting from the mobility scooter carrier.
Let us just say that it shot magnificently. My friends loved it and was quite impressed.
I also, for fun, launched a tennis ball.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

I've shot my morters from the back of the pick-em-up truck too.    Sometimes it's just too muddy or too much snow to unload it.

Good show Jeeper, your carrier seems to have mutiple uses.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

How much suspension bounce do you get when you fire that gun?

How much twist do you get from firing it at the edge?

I like mine. In this shot you can see the can in the air...

Well, I didn't say he was a close friend...

 ;D

This pic was specifically taken to show my 10 year old Son and ask him "what's wrong with this picture?" He's taken an interest in my cannons.

And yes, my Son got it without any hints from me. He laughed his head off when he saw it.

Regarding the recoil watch the left corner of the carrier. The charge was 250 grains of 1F Goex.

Mount it with trunnion at or just ahead of center and the barrel fixed at 45 degrees.

Here is one way it is done.  Inlet your base to hold the barrel at 45 degrees.

Anybody else notice that Victor3 is holding a rifle in the background of the "what not to picture"? Is that to shoot the cans as they fly? Sounds like you guys know how to have a good time...

Might be a scattergun - and he's expecting to shoot beer-can or golf-ball skeet.  ;D

(I've tried, NEVER been able to do it.)
