Lee Loader and 20 ga

I want to try doing a little reloading of 20 gauge shells with a lee loader.(Classic hand loader not Lee Load all). From what I have read, the main issue (besides speed) is choosing the right component combo in terms of height to get a good crimp. Does anyone have any info to help me get started?

The Lee-Loader I had about 25-30 years ago was a waste of time. Unless they are much improved, go to the Load-All

There were two LEE Loaders, the first one and then the DeLuxe model. The DeLuxe came with crimp starters, which are needed for plastic shells. Without a crimp starter, the Loader was useful only with paper hulls.

I haven't got that much patience either. A Lee-Load AllII is only $60, and it will make life so much easier, not too mention the finshed product will have far better quality control.

Mine had nylon crimp-starters. I may have bought them separately? It still didn't help much with plastic cases.

If you are still gonna try this you might want to buy a crimp starter for the mec press. They are only a few bucks and you could chuck them into the drill press, set the depth stop and use the press (turned off of course) to start your crimps.
