I got me a new S&W
« on: May 06, 2009, 02:59:09 PM »
...... well new to me.  It's about 35 years old, and looks like it's never been fired.  It's a pinned and recessed Model 27-2.

Got the case, and the accessories, and the original paperwork including the warranty card that was never sent in.

Beautiful gun, too heavy for carry but a great shooter.

How the heck is that too big for carry? Are you talking inside the waistband ccw style? I routinely hunt with a holsterd 7.5 super blackhawk. The highway patroll used to be issued the same gun (model28).

That's beautiful! Are you going to shoot it or save it for your kids to shoot? I shoot mine as I don't think my kids would fully appreciate such a fine piece.

Sweeet!   If it is unfired and with the original box and papers, I would have a hard time deciding whether or not to bust it's cherry.   Think I would save it as an investment and find a less pretty one for a shooter.

A real sweet find.  I would shoot it, but not abuse it, isn't that what it was made for?
