225gr FTX on deer

Do any of you guys use the 44 mag Hornady 225gr FTX for deer. How do they perform? Will be shooting these out of a rifle.

  It should work fine. And any standard 240gr works fine too, hollow or soft point.

valves...:  They should work fine in your rifle depending on the velocity they are loaded them to; if they are too fast they may expand prematurely.  You can always contact Hornady for their input.  HTH.

Sighted my Dad's Henry in yesterday with the FTXs. At 100yds with open sights best group was 3". Worst was 5".
Hornady states 1410fps from a 7 1/2" pistol. I added 400fps for the longer barrel.

I think you should be ok.  THe flex tips are designed to be used in rifles (hence the flex tip) so I would assume that they are ment to handle the rifle velocities.  I don't think you can go wrong with those bullets.  The 44mag is great in a rifle.
