I know what opinions are like but you have GOT to at least pick up and handle a Springfield XD or XDM. IMHO they are hands down improvements over the Glock which is a good gun in and of itself.
Sorry for laughing so hard at your statement; I almost choked. No offense towards you brother, it's the guns I'm laughing about.
I bought the Springfield XDM. Had it one day. It shot 14 inches high, 4 inches left.
Called S.A. they said ship it back right away quick as something was wrong with the gun.
(no kidding!) It cost me a trip to the UPS main hub terminal and $69.07 to airmail the thing back to S.A. since UPS will not ground ship for citizens any handgun.
S.A. says "don't wory 'bout a thang, we gatcha back covered and your $69.07 is on it's way back to cover shipping.
That was two months ago. Haven't seen a penny from Springfield, not a cent.
They kept my "new: XDM for
NINE WEEKS, called and said they had no sight that would let the pistol fire where pointed, put a sight on that shot only 4 inches high and 4 inches right and grouped 10 inches at 25 yards at best with ALL brands of ammo I could get my hands on.
Win. Rem. Fiocchi, Blazer and so forth.
I took a real beating on that gun but traded it off pronto since it was perfectly clear Springfield could or would not make it right.
In my opinion they build junk, they lie, don't keep thier word and I'm still waiting for my 69.07 shipping.
Bought a Glock M-23 in .40 about a month ago. Have over 600 rounds thru it without one, I say NOT ONE jam, and it hits to point of aim right out of the box. Accuracy is stallar, 3inches, sometimes better which ain't bad for a compact pistol.
Right now more XD pistols go back for repairs than any three brands put together.
