357 max brass
« on: May 15, 2009, 11:53:25 AM »
I was at my local shooting supply store today buying some powder. He has a large supply of powder and a good supply of bullets but zero primers. Same story I am hearing from everywhere. Anyway in the "bargan bin" he had 20-25 fired 357 maximum brass for $5.00. Is that a good price? I don't have the gun but if it is I would pick it up and resale it to someone on GBO for that cost plus a couple of dollars shipping next time I am over there. Just curious. Charlie

Fired? How many times? I do not like to get some else's brass, unless I know the source and how many times it had been fired. You can buy 100 pieces of new brass for about the same price per piece - $25/100 or $60/250

I do not think it such a good bargain.

Around these parts just finding it is a bargain.  I've been searching 357 brass.  Found some new Remington, 100 pcs. $42.00.  I passed.  I'll wait it out.

Midway has an expected in stock date of Monday (5-18) on Starline brass. Of course those dates get moved back regularly - but still I bet it will not be too long before they are available. 357 Max brass was impossible to get and Remington said that they were not going to make them again. the market was dry for about 6 months, but they are available now. I am in pretty good shape on brass, powder and primers. Bullets could use a little beefing up, but they are available, at least off and on.

Charlie

I got lucky about a year ago and found 500 new Remington 357 Max cases for $ .09 each , as that is what I form my 224GNR brass from , and am always on the look out for more at a bargan price .  ;D

But once fired @ $ .20 an't much of a bargan . :o you may want to pass as you don't realy need them .  ;)

Yeah, I was just seeing if anyone here thought they were a good enough deal for me to pick them up next time I am over there. Charlie
