im going to post this as nobodies gonna be telling the truth if they get this gun an say i did them wrong.. yesterday it failed to eject the rnd
on 2nd rnd.. also this time the trigger didn t catch.. i thing the failure to eject didn t allow the trigger to engage.. but thats my speculation..
i say this.. nobodies gonna be tellin the truth if they get this gun an
say i did them wrong.. its been dependable at times.. i can t get any dpx or i could probably honest say its fireing correctly again.. but i don t know that..
i might add i now carry my 60 s&w in an front in pants holster .. just means you have to leave you shirt out.. most comfortable an dependable also.. but you gotta remember to slip you gun in you pocket when you get undressed at night..while you pants are being worn the guns very secure.. slim
ps i might add ,the only ammo i can try is winchester flat nose 95 grn..i can t find .380 of any king anywhere. i got about 75 rnds of what i got..

Slim, I'm sorry for your problems with your Kel-tec.  Have you contacted Kel-tec with your problem?  I understand their warranty dept is very good.  They should address this problem and fix it for you.  I would talk to them before dumping your pistol.  I know once a gun has failed you, it is very difficult to trust it again even if repaired until it proves itself .  If you still wanted to off it after you sent it in, I understand.  But at least you could tell the next person to buy it that it had been gone over by the factory.  Or sell it cheap to someone on this forum and I'm sure THEY would send it in and get it checked.  Could be a mag spring, could be a burr on the mag lips, could  be low powered ammo or even just not holding the gun tight enough so it can cycyle properly.  I just hate to see you all turned off with Kel-tec when there are options available.  44 Man

It is hard to beat a good revolver.
Although my four Sig pistols have never failed me.
If you are not 100% confidant in the firearm working and that you can hit with it.....
A friend sold me an SKS.  I took it out to the range and shot it and it was having feed, ejection, and some cycing problems.  It is an SKS after all and they may not set the world record for the smallest group but they go bang every time. Usually.
In time since I bought it and took it out to the range My friend wanted the gun back.  Told him no.  I could not get it to go bang every time and will not sell it back to him till it worked for at least 25 rounds strait.
I took it home, tore the whole gun apart and cleaned ever part and looked for any wore or broken parts.
After getting the gun clean and reassemled with a thin coat of lub in the right places I took it back out to the range and it shot flawlessly.
took it back home took it all apart again and cleaned it once more.  Never would have thought that 25 rounds would have mede the gun so dirty.
But now that I know it will work every time, I will sell it back to him.
OH by the way the problem was he had cleaned the outside of the rifle but not the inside and there was caked cosmoline everywhere that were gumming up the works.
Next time I am at his house I'm going to steal his 870 give it a good cleaning and return it.  I'm not sure he knows it comes apart.

Never have been able to bring my self to buy one of the 9x19
Kel-tec's. Heard too much bad publicity about them. Like the little .32
ACP version though. I think the 9x19 is way too much for the design.
Kind of like holding a grenade in my hand with the pin pulled, It
makes me a little nervous.

That's cute S.S.! The grenade analogy. Like the P-32, the P-11/PF9 operate from a locked breech. You can feel the recoil, but it's not bad. Some say that it's painful to shoot after 50-100 rds. I say, why shoot more than that at a range session?
My PF9 gets a lot of carry these days. Hardly ever carry a P-11 anymore. My bigger guns usually stay in the safe till match day!
By the way, I have a P32 as well, sweet little pistol! I bought one for my wife, and one for me when they first came out. Never had a problem with either one. The one I traded off is still being carried as a backup by a deputy friend of mine.

My 21 daughter likes to shoot her PF9 so well that I bought one to go with my P3AT.  she really didn't like the 380 but she actually enjoys the 9MM.  F&B and keep clean.  Works every time.

Slim,
Did you dispose of the P380? I understand your frustration. I can't abide a pistol that won't run. If I can't sort one out, I don't carry it!!

yes i got it working right.. it always wanted to operate dry best so i did.. this time i tried some lube on it.. it funtions alright but still a glitch every 3 mags or so..i just don t think the guns been dependable enuff to call it a good ccw..thats just my opinion of this gun.. my time in learning the gun did no good.. it would be something new that had to be learned or worked out..5 times that i remember ,she dropped me flat on occasional dependability test..if your lifes depending on a gun ,you gotta have confidence in it.. i no longer do but won t sell it .. my 38 smith has 5 mean rnds in it..... that p3ats  in the glove compartment..
id rather hold somebody for the leo s to get there  ,,without pulling the trigger an giving my secrete away, possibly. ..i won t know for sure,..thats not a good thing.. but if it gets somebody killed ,its gonna be me.. who knows it might go bang an the jokes on mr. bg...
thanks for asking..slim

i have some hornady critical defence im thinking will work better due to the nose design....
can t wait to get it back from kel tec..working right its just the perfect little gun for in ocket holster mabe..thats the way i ll carry it... when i get it back..
right now my smith 60 fills the bill in in pants holster with super magnet glued into the bottum of holster...you ain t been looked at hard until you get up from your easy chair an the gun flips out on the floor..this while your grandkids visiting...not a good feeling...that dont happen with the magnet in place..won t work on the p3at but i think i ll try the in pocket holster then..slim

These guns are CNC machined which tends to leave rough edges, and being marketed as inexpensive guns the the factory does not spend a lot of time polishing them up.   Sometimes it takes a couple hundred rounds for them to break in and run smooth.  Polishing the feed ramp and taking a few swipes at the rough surfaces on the frame/slide rails with fine emery cloth can speed up the break in.   Use a good molybdenum grease on the frame rails not gun oil.  Use gun oil on all other internal parts sparingly.  If you follow these suggestions I think your be surprised by it's reliability.  8)
