what to do? decision,decision??

well i just got back from the gun store, i went to see about a bigger caliber than 357. (i have the post about 357 for black bear), well i took one of my small 38's and got another gun. but the gun is also a 357, the shop owner convinced me that seeing a bear here is very remote. so i traded for another 357, this time a gp100. now for my problem is should i take the sp101 when i'm out on the trail?, or the gp100?. the sp101 is stainless with 3 inch barrel, the gp100 is blue with 4 inch barrel. i wanted stainless but guns are tough to get in around here right now, so i settled for blue. thanks for any help.

For normal packing I'd carry the SP101, SS and lighter carry make pluses for me. For extended stay in the woods I'd pack the GP100, They are one tough pistol and can handle anything you'd want to shoot out of a revolver. My GP100 is a constant companion on camping trips and when I deer hunt. It has put several deer in the freezer and will shoot as well as most of my rifles. 8)

A Ruger BH in 41 mag with  265gr corbon ammo will drop a grizzly or 45 colt will drop a black  bear.Another site to look for  Ruger handguns is www.lipseys.com Exclusives.I bought a SS Ruger Single Six ,4 5/8" barrel with 22/22mag cylinders several years ago but they have them again along with lots of others .

would the blue frame of the gp100 be any less durable than the sp101 ss frame? i like the feel of the gp a little better, but the gun i carry most will be out alot on the farm and in the woods.

The blued frame is every bit as strong It just requires a little more care if it gets wet as long as you keep it clean you will never have any problems with that revolver.  Stainless is just a little more forgiving in the wet. 8)

Why not carry them both ?
i just purchased a ruger new vaquero in .357 mag as a companion to my taurus in .44mag and plan on carrying them both when hunting.  i regularly carry two rifles when hunting as well. seems very natural to me.
