Got My Skull Back
« on: May 16, 2009, 09:03:41 PM »
I got my Coyote skull, and tail back from the taxidermist.

The custom cow-horn howler made by BearManRic of RR game calls, is my prize for being voted Hunter of the Month for April by PredatorMasters.com

The skull got the dermestid beatle treatment, and came out very great. The RR Howler is beautiful, sounds awesome, and is MUCH easier to use than the store-bought howler I have been practicing with. I am going to try to call one in with it on my next outing.

lookin good and now you have the start on the makings of a nice medicine pole for your lodge!

Another thing that can be salvaged from the carcuss is the front leg bones. They can make for great handles for patch knifes or other small knifes, wish I had a picture to show you but if you have a knife making friend, they would get the idea immediately.

Congrats BUTCHER on being voted Hunter of the Month for April by Predator Masters. That's a great distinction. The skull and RR Howler are awesome too.

That skull looks good.  Nice long canines on that dude, musta been at the peak of his fawn eating career when you took him down.

Ive tried a few coyotes skulls.  I usually skin them out and prop them on a fencepost for the birds and bugs to work over.  Problem is they always seem to disappear.

Question, looks like your caller is laying on a horse in the last pic.  What is it laying on?

Congrats on your recognition.

That's just a regular ol' blanket I used for a backdrop.
