model 15 repair
« on: May 20, 2009, 03:50:04 AM »
Picked up a model 15 farly cheap, has the 1st 1/4-1/2 inch of the barel bored out, kind of like a faulse muzzle. Guy said it was due to a lg gowge in the riffling. What would a barrel instalation run roughly. I can get a used barrel fairly easily. It is a 4 inch but putting a 2 in on & making it a snubby for ccw at times would be kind of fun. Then again I could cut the barrel off & crown it & put a dove tail on it for a snubby too. What would you do??

Or just shoot it as is & see how it does & leave it. A 2 in k frame just has some appeal to me I guess
That's my boy, GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

If it were me I would just get an aftermarket 4" barrel for it. You can get them fairly cheap. A 4" can still be concealed pretty easily. Good Luck!
