Screws
« on: May 20, 2009, 03:51:49 PM »
I need a fore end screw and a couple of filler screws for where the front sight was on a scoped barrel.

Question: is there anything special about these things or can I just head over to my local hardware store for them?  If so, could some kind soul provide the sizes?

Thanks.

Contender forearm screws are 10X32 most hardware stores have them in different lengths,  filler screw not sue on size but figure they have them also. Encore forearm screws are 8X40. They are hard to find but Brownells  sells them.

Filler screws you won't find locally. Call T/C and they should be able to get them to you. They are a slotted headless very fine thread (#6, I think) type.

Fillers are 6x48  headless slotted as mentioned...not typically found in hardware stores. If you can't locate I have saved many  over the years. Id send you a couple.

That is a very nice offer, thank you.  I called T/C and spoke to a very nice lady there who is sending a couple to me.  Seems like a really nice outfit to deal with.

Thanks all for your help.
