I don't believe he is stuck on himself . He displays a seldom seen trait . Its called self confidence . He is willing to express his beliefs and weather the fall out good or bad because he belives he is right . That at one time was what made great men great Americans .

I agree with you 100%. Ted is Ted and tells it like it is. Many time people mistake confidence with arrogance. It takes like minded people to tell the difference. Ted is a confident man, and has the stones to say what needs to be said.

How soon we all forget - just remember , Before the Nuge gets put up on the proverbial gold pedestal - Nugent took his student deferment to avoid (openly admitted) going to Vietnam. ( Not too much backing up words with action there )

However, People do grow and I do give him credit this go round though for supporting our troops and traveling to Iraq for a USO tour.
I guess that just makes him human , no more or no less a complex personality than any other person, We can all be hypocritical at various points in our lives.

I stayed in college as long as I could to stay out of Nam. I couldn't see any reason to go to a dumb war that was obviously being run by stupid politicians that didn't seem too concerned about winning, just what other countries might think of us. When it didn't make any sense to stay in college any longer I joined the Army, I wasn't drafted. I figured that a lot of good men had paid the price for the good life that I had enjoyed so far, and now it was my turn to pay my dues too.

I don't consider what he did dishonorable, the war was not popular with conservatives either, because of the way it was being conducted.

Certainly hope no one mistook my comment as a bash. I like Ted and my comment was in reference to how he bashes the politicians and all the anti's and pulls no punches on where he stands.

When you have a pair of these $$, and I would take bets that he has more than a pair, you can express your opinions and air them on TV or any where else and not worry about what anyone else thinks. He is a true pro gun man and I support his stance 100%.

I have been slamming "Terrible Ted" for at least 35 yrs now and will continue to do so.
He has proven time and time again to be a self aggrandizing, lying sack of s*** blow hard who will do or say anything to manipulate the public's opinion of him.

I think Ted makes a lot of sense with his thoughts on who do you want living after the crime, the bad offender or defender. Personally, I'd agree with Ted and would love to meet him and go hunting sometime, but he doesn't always present the arguement in a way that wins people over to the pro gun side. He's done a lot of great work promoting hunting and gun ownership and I can't fault him for any of that.
