Obama to sign bill allowing guns in Nat. parks
« on: May 22, 2009, 12:46:33 PM »

"To the frustration and discouragement of many Democrats, House and Senate lawmakers and aides say it now appears likely that President Obama will this week sign into law a provision allowing visitors to national parks and refuges to carry loaded and concealed weapons". :o :)

Let us see how long it takes and whether or not there is some  last minute diddling done with that bill.

Yeah, you can carry your gun but Obama has control on all the bullets.

UPDATE: BILL SIGNED!

Takes effect in 90 days, whatever your state laws allow in public are allowed in the park.

Not that it ever effected me...
Montana state constitution already guarantees my right to carry concealed, without permit, in the National forests as well as the National parks of our state.  ;D

Not so fast, Zombie.

The emminent administration's spokespeople have just said that since the credit card provisions won't take effect until Feb 2010, neither will the concealed carrry provisions.

That stupid nincompoop Chris Dodd was interviewed on TV and was "so disappointed" about the gun provision being tagged on to the credit card bill(which is kinky, if you ask me) because he wanted the national parks to be a safe place for families to go with their children! What a crock! Without a weapon a family with children would be prey for all the wolves(however many legs they had)! Seems the Fools like moving target zones! Which is what a gun free zone is!

Heard the other day that a lady who's husband was murdered on the train when the wacko opened fire in New york a few years back, has become a "anti gunner" She thinks a sign that says no guns allowed would have protected her husband! Wish she would have been on the train instead of him!

It is a long way off before it takes effect in Feb 2010. The only thing we need it for it to be put into another bill that takes effect at an earlier date. But until then, I am sure it will come under attack from the liberal pukes.

There will be a mass shooting in a national park--count on it.  I think the gun grabbers have plenty of whackos waiting in the wings for such occasions.

It's tacked on to a bill he wants....least that's the way I read it, could be wrong.
Usually, that's the way things work though...I thought I heard it was in the same bill as this credit card deal.

If it is...it's just business as normal,  somebody wants something real bad so people in Congress tack on stuff that the opposing part hates.

No way will Obama keep this on on.

1. He stated days earlier that he feels he should be able to take anything off of a bill that was tacked on.

2. He is hopeful that enough will buy in to idea of the UN being over many things, World Gun Control being one. If enough Americans buy into that he will just say, well we have to go along to be part of the World Community, I'm sorry, but Gun Control is part of it.

I believe this is just temporary smoke & mirrors.

Its nothing more than a political move by obuma to make you think he's okay. Big deal that the law will allow you to carry in a national park. I could care less what the law says on that. If I feel the need to carry I do regardless of the law. Any law that tells you you can't carry to protect yourself is in violation of the 2nd amendment. The law was confusing and I see this as no big win for gun owners.

Correct, because after they are "illegal" anyway, the Prks won't matter.

From what I read they still must be unloaded and locked or secured.
And Obama also wants a EPA study done on their impact on the land: guess where this is going.

I wonder how many people have been mauled by bears in parks because of that stupid cartoon show?

("Finger on the trigger" and "thumb behind the slide"? Oh, my. Someone is getting ready to dance the "Ooo, ooo, ahhh, ahhh" jig.)

("Finger on the trigger" and "thumb behind the slide"? Oh, my. Someone is getting ready to dance the "Ooo, ooo, ahhh, ahhh" jig.)

I saw a "gangsta" at an indoor range praticing his "gangsta grip" (you know the sideways hold that is oh so accurate, but in all the movies...)  He was all blinged up with his -insert garden utinsil here- in tow.  I looked over when they showed up and set up.  I was watching him because he obviously didn't know what he was doing.  I offered to help and he sneerd at me and told me he knew "what was up."  I went back to the viewing area to watch the show (didn't want to be on the floor with someone who didn't know what they were doing and didn't accept help.)

He put the target out to 5 yards, lined up, and opened fire....with his thumb behind the slide.  Mr. Gansta amused us all with his ""Ooo, ooo, ahhh, ahhh" jig."  His was pretty serious though, open dislocation...  His -insert garden utinsil here- got to see her big bad gangsta man cry for the 18 min it took the ambulance to show up...  In between sobs he was screaming that he was going to sue everyone there...
This that I do, I do by my own free will.

If I had had that recorded, I'd be FAMOUS!  I'll have to check with the range, it has security camera's out the wazoo and you KNOW that the good ol'boys kept that tape!  If I can find it I'll post it (if it's ok with GB...I don't know the legality issues...)  8)
