6.5 mm X.284 Win. M70?

I am seriously considering building a 6.5 X.284 long range rifle on a standard length Winchester M-70 action. Has anyone built a similar rifle? If so, have you encountered any any problems with rounds feeding from the magazine, extraction, etc.?

The 6.5-284 was designed for standard length actions so really not a problem.  Actually, Winchester produced the model 70 with the 284 Winchester round.

Just a comment, alot of 1000 yard shooters are moving away from the 6.5-284 to the 284 winchester using 180 grain VLD bullets from JLK or Berger.   The 180's have the BC and the case can propel them at very good velocities without the short barrel life issues of the 6.5-284.

In 6.5mm, the 6.5x47 Lapua has become the darling cartridge especially when using the 130 grain VLD's from Berger and JLK which give up very little to the 140 grain bullets.   Advantage is better barrel life in the 6.5x47 Lapua.

I'm also considering the .284 Win. and the .260 Ackley Improved. My main interest is for hunting and long-range plinking and since I already have a pair of .260 Rem. silhouette rifles, I just might go the .260 AI route.
