Vacuum sealer bags
« on: May 27, 2009, 02:46:09 AM »
I have a food saver sealer and want to know if anyone has tried other brand bags? The food saver bags are considerably more $$. I know the other brand bags are 3-4 ply vs food saver are 6 ply but not sure if this makes that much of a difference. Thanks!

M wife has tried the thinner bags on her saver and she thinks for Really long term storage the 6-ply work better but for general freezer use she uses the cheaper thin stuff. I can't tell the difference :-\

I work at a seafood business where lots of people have their catch vacuumed packed.  The bags we use in our commercial packer are heat sealed but will not work in a seal-a-meal machine.
