Hammer spring question, 1974 model 94

 From what I've gathered my '74 made model 94 should have a coil type hammer spring but has the original flat spring with tensioner.  Unless my information is incorrect, I can't understand why this rifle doesn't conform to specs for its year of manufacture.  Any input on this will be greatly appreciated!

My real concern is trying to buy parts.  How I can tell if other parts in the rifle don't match the year of manufacture I have no idea.  I'd like to buy a screw set since some have their heads boogered , some springs and a firing pin for just in case.

demented - R U sure your rifle's DOM is 1974 ?

What type of shell lifter/carrier does it have - machined (look for machining marks), thin stamped sheet metal, or cast steel (look for mold seam in the middle) - as that will help date it, if it's original to the action.

A pic of the action's underside would help nail it down.

Demented, coil springs started at 4,580,000 so if your serial # is less than that it should be a leaf spring. So says my info.

Thanks to all that have taken the time to reply.  Had an illness in the family so I haven't been able to get back here, didn't intentionally ignore your help.  My serial number is indeed below your mentioned 4,580,000, its 400023xx so now I know why my info doesn't seem correct.  Can someone direct me to a site that will have parts?  I would like a new receiver screw set and possibly a firing pin and some other odd parts.  Again, I do appreciate your taking the time to help!
