I'd like to see the Harley come back to Wisconsin for good, and I'd really like to see Dave Zien (and more folks like him) back in the Senate.

"Pro God, pro family, pro gun, pro flag, pro guts, pro fun, pro USA."  Don't get much better then that!   ;D

I'd really like to see Dave Zien (and more folks like him) back in the Senate.

"Zien served in the Legislature for 18 years before he was defeated in 2006 by Sen. Pat Kreitlow, D-Chippewa Falls."

Guys, with Zien's agenda, and 18 years service, how did he get beat by a democrat?   ???  Changing demographics in his district maybe?   :-\

Rode beside the man in the Tomahawk parade one year. Wore a long brown duster. Down to earth kinda guy, but liked to be the center of attention. Could always see him comin' down the interstate as he usually had a full size flag flyin' off his bike. I believe he got caught with pot once or twice and that was an issue with his reelection.

He's a little kooky, eccentric, outspoken, and arrogant (hard not to like, huh?). Very pro-military and pro-veteran which is always good with voters, but his stance on concealed carry totally handcuffed him. He was a champion for CCW, but the local media and other politicians lambasted him over this one issue. He got locked in and labelled as a gun nut.  This area, despite his 18 years, is pretty liberal and it caught up with him. The guy who beat him, Krietlow, is also an ex-local TV news guy, so the face and name recognition was already in place. Couple all that with an intense media slant against you and that's it.
I'd love to see him, and 1000 more like him, back representing us.

I knew Dave Zein and in a way I was glad to see him out of the senate.  Had to much of a cocky attitude.  His mouth had a tendency to get him into trouble.

i agree steve.  it was time for him to go.  even though i liked what he originally stood for, he had become a career politician and thought he was better than others.  i was actually glad to see him get beat out after engaging him one on one in conversation.  funny thing was, shortly after he got beat, i bumped into the guy that beat him in eau claire.  i also engaged the senator in conversation, and he was very easy to talk to, and more importantly, the man listened to me and treated me as an equal.  i have nothing bad to say about him.
now back to the million miles on this EVOLUTION engine.... i thought these evolution engines were no good?  if you ask me, zein got screwed when he traded for the new bike because he traded off an evo for a twin cam.   i guess there is one born every minute...... ;D

Read a different article about him, said it was rebuilt four times. A 250,000 mile average between rebuilds on an evo isn't too shabby!

I've seen that bike in person in the museum in Sturgis. The info posted at the display states that it has had two brand new engines, and nine rebuilds, IIRC. So, it's more along the lines of 100K between rebuilds.

I'm not going to take anything away from his mileage accomplishment (that's a lot of seat time!), but there aren't many original parts left on the bike. They actually list the specific parts that are original! Again, info taken from the bike's display in the museum.
