I just got back from a few days in the Charleston, SC area. I stayed in a Hampton Inn in Mount Pleasant. I can't say enough about the staff there and the service, but the Internet connection was weird. I logged on the first day, then it got impossible to get on again. I was having better luck in getting to the log-in page of the Bi-Lo across the parking lot. I called their help desk, which killed over half an hour and got me nowhere. I then looked in my briefcase and found a Knoppix Linux disc and cranked up a Linux session. I connected immediately and did not even have to go through a log-in window or put in the hotel's code. Knoppix has a browser called Iceweasel and I had no problems at all. The only difficulty was that I had a USB thumb drive that was not FAT32, so I was not able to save anything, as I did not want to lose what was already on the drive by reformatting it.
