Buckmark Camper help needed! Many thanks.
« on: May 30, 2009, 05:18:44 AM »
Can you help me with my new, never used Buckmark camper?  I just received my camper (2009 model).  When I got it home and took it apart, I had a tough time initially removing the recoil guide, firing pin and recoil buffer (directions were horrible, and I think I am pretty handy with guns).  I also noticed that there were no lock washers on the sight screws (do they not have them on post 2001 models?).

I bent the rod and tried to bend it back but have had a tough time doing so.  The rod seems to be locked in the plastic block and can not be removed (is that the case, if not how do you remove it?).  Is there a place to buy the entire unit?  Does the rod come out?

I love the feel of the buckmark in my hand.  I plan to put a tactical solution rail and ultra dot match on it.

I am going away on a hunting trip and was going to pick up a spare firing pin, spring/rod and that little plastic box.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd try the guys at  midwestgunworks.com  they have a bunch of Browning info & parts. I'm sure they could help.

I have had a buck mark since they first came out, or a year or two after.
the plastic is moulded to the op rod.
I would suggest getting one of the Brownells books on firearm disassembly.  It gives good advice step by step on how to disassemble and then tricks to reassemble the gun.
I own three buck marks and still grab the book for full tear down and cleanings.
At this point I think I will only buy the guns in the tear down books.

I've had a buckmark for years have shot many thousands of rounds through it without ever "breaking it down". I really can't remember the gun ever jamming.
