Hello,
I am kicking around the idea of a USFA in 44spcl. and I had a few questions based on some things I've read about the guns.
I was hoping to have the capability to push a 250gr slug to about 1100 if possible, on occasion, and I was wondering if the skeeter load, which is only a few fps under that is ok in a gun like this? Would the keith load be too hot, even with the larger diameter cylinder??? Hoping the gun would be OK with loads such as those listed in latest handloader mag for lipsey's ruger 44spcl flat top.
Also, I see that the USFA'a have a .430 throat but .428 groove. Does the smaller groove diameter change what bullets can be used? I do not cast my own, and I see that most bullets are .430 or .429 and the ruger uses a .430 groove diameter. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben
