H&R won't fit any accessory barrels to it, it's too old, serial numbers must start with N or H for that, most older H&Rs were shotguns only, although they did offer some low pressure chambered rifles on some models, you can try to fit a second hand shotgun barrel to it, barrel fitting info can be found in the H&R Centerfire rifle forum FAQs and Help sticky, barrels can be bought in the H&R Classifieds here.... and welcome!  ;)

None of the rimfires will work with the centerfire frame, those centerfire rifle barrels were available on some models, but I wouldn't try them on your frame unless the particular frame you have was originally barreled with one. H&R won't fit any of those barrels to current production SB1 shotgun frames, they will fit 357mag and 44mag to SB1 shotgun frames made since 1987, but not yours. An SB2 rifle frame is required for the Hornet, 30-30 and 45-70 by H&R standards, there was no SB1 or SB2 designation prior to 1987, they were all just cast iron frames.

My model157 Hornet is on the same BB prefix as you discribe that may be a 1987 frame or it may be a left over during the Bankrupt start over of 1986 I surly doubt they will fit a bbl as no one seems to have any records of bb ser #'s they don't exist mine was an orphan til you came along. Mine is case color whether it's hardened is anyones guess but mine has no issues with the 22Hornet on it. Please let us know if you ever find anymore info on the BB prefix. Kurt

If i was to guess with what I do know and what you have told us. I would say your frame prolley came with a 22Hornet bbl 30/30 bbl maybe even a 357 being a BBprefix most likley a Model157 maybe even a 22Jet. kurt

That would be a small pin, the large one is nearly .100

'BB' prefix was used in 1985 - possibly less than a year before shutdown of H&R Arms Co.  It may be "unfinished stock", that is:  never installed on a completed firearm.  All of H&R's single shot rifles and shotguns were stamped on the left side of the receiver with a Model number, during this era.  If there is no model stamped on your receiver - then see above.  With a round centerfire firing pin of that size, it was intended for a center fire rifle.  H&R's at that time were chambered for .22 Jet, .30-30, .22 Hornet and .45-70, and possibly some other calibers, can't remember without looking into the research data.
