Yes, still has head, happened to not have gun that day.Is this not the largest copperhead in Bama or what? The camera phone pic isnt a good one, this snake was gold, as in copperhead, there not supposed to get this big.It was probably 48"s or better if straightened out.In the pic it was severley wounded by a big stick @ 4 " behind the head.

And I'm of the opinion that the fellow holding a perhaps still live snake complete with intact head that close to his bare legs is also just a wee bit "wounded in the head".

I was of the opinion that it was a brown water snake, but I wasn't there  to see it. I still wouldn't want to be handling it. I've read that the best way to kill a snake is to cut off his tail.......about two inches behind his head.

Graybeard, you would think highly of the wife of a friend of mine.  Finding a rattler in the hen house, she began to kill it with a garden hoe.  She chopped until there was not a piece more than 2" long.  Some partial reassembly revealed the snake to be over 4'.

Theres dead, then there's sure nuff' dead.

Dat's da way I do it or just shoot their head off.

Not to worry!  I've had many, many confrontations with snakes, and so far the snakes have all lost.
