Another hunter born into the fold
« on: June 05, 2009, 07:24:16 PM »
After much speculation on which rifle I should buy with the federal govt baby bonus Kombi Jnr No4 arrived at 10am on Friday 6 June 2009 (yesterday).
As was expected the baby was another boy and he broke his older brother's previous record of 10lbs 7oz.
No4 weighed in at 10lbs 14oz (4.945kg)!!  :o
He is also 53.5cm long.
Mummy is feeling a little sore but is not sorry and both of them had a great night's sleep.
Unfortunately she is having trouble making up her mind and it is this reason that I cannot give you a name yet although I've almost pinned her down.
Here are some pics of him just after he was born....

And now I await the hair comments......  :-\

Awww, that is a handsome young lad there Kombi. Big congratulations to you and mom. May God bless this new little fellow and may he follow in his daddy's footsteps of being a hunter.

Thanks, Skunk.
Now he has a name too, coincidentally the one I've been pushing for 6 months...

Alexander Henry Wood

Do I win or WHAT!!  ;D
Only thing worrying me is that my choice of rifle may now have to sufficiently match his name....... :-\

Hey, that name will work, Kombi! :)

How's mom and that little Alex Henry doing? I take it he's home now and met the rest of his family. I suspect everyone wanted to take turns holding and spoiling him. Have you shown him the gun rack yet? ;)

Congratulations Kombi - fine looking boy and a strong name , love the link .The contented joyfull look on your lady's face after child birth reminds me my wife had the same contented look after my 2 gorgeous little monsters where born .

Don't fret fret about your balding mate , wait till your my age and have half of what you got - like me !

You didn't go hunting last September did you Kombi ?  ;) - back in 95 and 98 I went on 2 to 3 week hunts and ended up with 2 kids born in July .

Congratulations again

regards Jacko

Congrats. Add another notch to your belt, you got yourself a fine young specimen of the human race.

BTW what rifle did you get?

Thanks mate.
I'd really like a Steyr Prohunter Big Bore in 450 Marlin.
But right at present I'm trying to determine why the 450 seems similarly priced to the normal Prohunter in 270/308/'06 in the USA and Canada, and yet is $800 more expensive here.
Even looking at exchange rates it's completely incongruous.
If it's what I suspect Winchester Australia, who import Steyr, are trying to rip off the buying public.
Is that something distributors have done here before? Well, duh!!  ::)
Simple profiteering and greed.
If I can't find a way around it I'm not sure....maybe a Ruger No1 of some description.

Thanks, Datil.
The "little" fella is sleeping well, all things considered and as you'd see by my most recent thread I even managed to get out into the field on Friday night.
Gotta love babies who sleep! ;D
