Which electronic call?

I have an older Johnny Stewart that plays tapes and weighs about the same as a concrete block.  I've been thinking about a newer and lighter electronic caller.  The FoxPros look great, but the cost for even the middle priced FoxPro is at the top end or over my budget.  I see Johnny Stewart has one in the $200 range.

I still call predators with a mouth call, but would like the option of an electronic for a change of pace.  I also would like to use it on crows.

Any comments?

 ;) star, I went with the Foxpro, while more expensive it is light and easy to use. I now have two. I would call the fac. and tell them what I wanted. One is set up for general varmit hunting, the other I had programed for only coyotes and crows. Both are excellent.  ;)

Coyotes & crows would handle it all for me here in Ohio.  Thanks for the input.

I have a older fox pro model 416 with remote and I have put that thing through the ringer and it still works
like the day it was new. Yeah the new models look really cool but I guarantee I can call in just as many animals as someone with a new model. Best part is you can pick up the 416 with remote for $200 or just a little more all day long on the classifides of some predator hunting forums. It only has 16 sounds instead of several hundred like some of the new models, but I find myself using about 5 or 6 of the 16 sounds about 90% of the time. Get one and you will love it.

 :D I would agree with JB, there are far more sounds on the Foxpro than one usually needs. I would for sure have several rabbit sounds, but you may not have jacks there, and a hurt coyote pup. For crows, I have heard the dying crow is great. In fact we used that the last time I shot crows with a shotgun in Pa. It worked very well late in the season. Of course you know the crow sounds that work well, you can have Foxpro put those on your machine.  I would call them and order the sounds I wanted. ;)

I have a Preymaster PM4 and I like it alot.  I upgraded from the PM3 which has a cord to the speaker.  PM4 is wireless.  I had quite a few sound cards with the first one so going to the new wireless seemed like a no brainer.   The remote works well and it has plenty of volume.  Whats not to like.   There are quite a few good callers out there, but I think this is about the cheapest of the good ones....

I have a foxpro 532.  I like it and have killed alot of crows, coyotes and coon over it.  If I had to do it again, i would go with the PM4.  I love the Johnny Stewart sounds and the PM4 is set at a great price.

What about the Power Dogg by Primos? Its only $160, has coyote sounds distress sounds crows and snow geese. It is also wireless.

I recently purchased the Primos PowerDogg.  It cost 150 dollars comes with 12 different sounds.  The volume is great    , it is remote control.  It says it's receiver works under 100 yards, that is true, and so I tested to see how far away I could be.  The remote worked out to 220 yards away, for 150 dollars, it is amazing
.  I would get this, if I were you.

 Foxpro here, with 'crow fight' & 'dying crow' for off season action. I have an older 16 sound model. The 16 is plenty of choices for me.

+1 on that.  I have killed more animals over a Sceery AP-6 than any other mouth call.

 Yes sir.... Swift One the AP-6 is awesome i also like the AP-9 for hands free. You know thoes times were u give a little blib then a big BANG!!!!!!! ;D
