Thats a really good question.  My guess is contractual agreements, but I could be wrong.  I have been waiting for three years for the SPR22 45-70's to hit the market, sure am glad I didn't hold my breathe ::).

Remington dropped the SPR line as well as the 788 and 798 Mausers.
You won't find them on their website.

Aaron makes a good point, the Spartans were in Remington's product line starting in 2005//2006 which was long before they (Cerberus) bought H&R/Marlin, it's now only listed on Remington's site in their firearms history which makes the SPR18 history!!!  ;D

My .308 SPR18 is unbeliveably accurate for such a skinny barrel. Sub-MOA with Federal 308A 150gr SP loads.

POI doesn't walk either as it gets warm.

It's too bad they are dropping it, I like the European style rifles.

Russians seemed capable of importing stuff prior to Remington, maybe they will  again. I've fiddled with 7 or 8 SPR's in shops. 7.62x39 always pulled me in. Tight action and horrible trigger sent me back. Maybe 1 out of 5 Handis has a heavy trigger. The worst of those triggers was better than the best of the SPR's triggers that I saw.

Other countries do make neat break-opens though. Just saw a Kahn? single shot 12. Hinged all the way, and a shortish barrel, so it just folded open and into a slim 20" case. No screwdrivers or screw to chase.
