More good news.  Things will improve at Dakota.

Am I the only one who thinks this has nothing whatever to do with Remington?  This is just business as usual for Cerberus.  Buy things as fast as you can, and 'realign' the 'brands.'  Sometimes good things happen to companies that are cash-starved and in possible peril of failure, but mostly the names are commoditized and the underlying companies are destroyed.

Dakota Arms has had a hard time making it over the past several years - it has not been that long since they were in chapter 11 - hopefully this will be for the better - not sure how the Remington Custom shop will feel about the deal unless they move it in house to Remington's shop. The Remington Custom shop puts out some very nice products that have nothing to do with the cost reductions we see in some of the other Remington firearms. Remington is not alone as the other manufacturers are chasing the price point and declining sales in hunting type rifles dollars. The economy and price of ammo has had a large effect on the non-tactical / defense firearms market.

Remember those mauser rifles made in Europe. There was the Wentworth and the Interarms MarkX. Then they became the Charles Daly mausers. Good rifles and fair prices. Then Remington bought them and the prices shot through the roof. Look for Dakota prices to go up too. My 2 cents.

I'm not sure they could get much higher in price than they are already. Talk about expensive.
