The Kimber has a forged frame and slide. The DW uses cast frames and slides I believe. If the price difference is only $40 then I would go for the Kimber just to get the forged and machined parts.
Nothing wrong with 1911's that use castings but I don't believe they have the long-term durability of 1911's that use forgings. An old National Guard MTU armorer I know is fond of saying that a forged 1911 is good for 20,000 rounds whereas a cast gun is good for only 10,000 rounds before excessive wear becomes a safety or functioning issue. Either is probably more rounds than I would ever put through a 1911 but I offer it as advice frome an individual who should know what he's talking about.
The Kimbers also come with throated barrels to accept hollow-point bullets. I don't know what DW does to their barrels.
