It's a girl!
« on: June 11, 2009, 07:46:48 AM »
I was browsing at the local orphanage (Bowie Outfitters) today at lunch, and amongst all of foreign babies she was calling for me.  A precious little negro girl from New York, dressed in a new style RealTree AP outfit.  She was too cute leave there, so I gave in to my impulsive nature and rescued her from the cramped crib where she was living.  Her name that was carved into her, .444 Marlin, was far too masculine so she will be known as Clotille to her new family.

A few things of interest about her:  The frame is stamped Illion, NY.  It is the first synthetic camo stock I have seen in the new style, which I really like.  The trigger is fairly stiff, but easily fixed.

I'll throw up some pics after I get home this afternoon.

Congrats Kendall, I really like the new syn stock, the forend is a good compromise between the Varmint and old style,  would be nice to find a set of the camo version, looking forward to the pics.  ;)

Say hello to Clotille.  Trigger job is done, scope rail installed, and the barrel is floated.  The more I shoulder this new stock set, the more I like it.

One thing to note, my Limbsaver from the previous generation synthetic stock does not fit the new one.  Luckily the recoil pad that comes with it is very similar.

Nice!!  ;) The first thing I did when I got the new stock for my 35 Whelen Imp was try the #10018 Limbsaver on it that I have on my monte carlo stock set that's on my 20ga TDC turkey gun, was disappointed that it didn't fit well, it would work, but a poor fit. The factory pad isn't near as nice as the Limbsaver, but it's better than the either of the old style pads.
