Barrel cant

The barrel on my .45 Colt Classic Carbine is canted to the right or clockwise viewed from the chamber end. 
You could see this in the sights just a bit, but when I installed the Warne Tactical Scope rail...
I also tried a H&R scope base with the same results.
Has any one had this problem?

I've seen it many times on Ruger Revolvers.

H&R will probably replace the barrel, I've had a couple that were a little off, but not enough to worry about for a Handi's intended purpose, they aren't exactly benchrest firearms.  ;)

It is a problem that does not effect how well the rifle will shoot.

i think somebody posted about that same issue recently,sight dovetail slightly off center on the 45lc barrel....yeah,i've heard of that before,something out of whack at the factory,maybe

The sight dovetails and the scope base are on the same line or plane.
Its the barrel underlug that is out plumb.

The Leupold VXII Ultralight 3x9x33 in LOW leupold (weaver type) mounts fits OK with about a 1/4" of space over the hammer.
If they only made a Bisley style hammer all scopes could be mounted lower. 8)

Low profile hammers and smaller, lighter hammer extensions are some of the upgrade modifications that H&R is currently working on, I sent them pics of the old style hammer and my M94 Winchester hammer extension modification, they'd also cost less than farming out extension sales to Uncle Mike's!! ;)
