While I agree with you, it would be fun to watch, nonetheless.

I think Letterman has become senile. After he somewhat apologized to Palin, he invited her to be on his show. What would make him think she would want to be a host on his show and boost his ratings. If it was a conservative that said something like that, he would be forced quit his show. Just think of the repercussions if Hannity, Rush, or Savage said something like that about Pelosi.

NO!  While it would feel good to punch out Letterman
No one needs to stoop to the liberal level like Sean Penn or Tim Robbins that profess peace but will threaten and have proformed violent acts when people disagree with them.
I think it would be better to write to the sponsors of the letterman show and boycott thier products as long as they sponsor the show.
No sponsors for the show..... NO SHOW no huge salary for Dave ect.....
Maybe then the liberals will have some respect for "fly over country"

After further reflection, I am still undecided.
It sounds good to take the moral high ground, ie. not stoop to their level, itnore them, etc.
But really, is it moral high ground?
Or something else,  cowardice maybe?

I do feel that Sarah Palin has been insulted by David Letterman.

I haven't watched Letterman in many, many years after learning his politics.

I don't see this changing in the future.

As for Mr. Letterman, what goes around comes around.  He's now over due.

If Letterman had made the same remarks about my wife and daughter that he did Palin and her daughter, and I could get past his security boys, YOU DAMN RIGHT I'D PUNCH IS LIGHTS OUT, or he would mine. What happened to the men that DEFENDED THEIR FAMILIES HONOR? Am I the only one left?
I was raised that the women in the family were defended against jackasses trying to be cute, and insulting. I guess those men don't exist anymore. Too bad. Folks were a hell of a lot more civil when they might get their ass kicked for insulting a woman or a child.
My great aunt had a remark made not TO HER, but ABOUT HER, by a local bully in about 1956. Whether the remark was true or not, I do not know. HOWEVER! My Great Grandfather confronted the 30 year old bad ass on the square in my home town on a Saturday when everyone was in town. My Grandfather, and Father stood by and kept the man's friends out of the fray while my 66 year old GREAT GRAND FATHER, whipped his ass in front of the whole town, and no one interfered. They all knew he deserved it.
I guess people like me are dying off, but NOBODY insults my family members, ESPECIALLY THE WOMEN, and gets away with it. If I can't get it done the first time, I'll go home and get the difference, and will get it done the second time. I'm truly disappointed with some here. It's none of my business, but at 60 years old, I would not stand for YOUR WIFE or YOUR DAUGHTER, to be insulted like that if I were standing there when it happened, and I have references to that fact. It seems some here may have become TOO CIVILIZED, or something. :(

+1.  Calling my wife "slutty" and making light of my daughter because (hypothetically) she had a baby out of wedlock. I'd deck him.

All those saying he shouldn't stoop to D.L's level, well Letterman's level is to make personally biased attacks in front of the camera, under the pretext of humor.  Sure, he can be a jerk, but this was too far.

Todd should punch him.  He should ask for a meeting, be polite when he expresses his disappointment with Mr. Letterman, than at the end of the meeting, shake his hand with the right, and hook him with the left.

I'll choke up a few bucks for bail, not that he needs it.

My Wife says I look CIVILIZED when I put on nice clothes, but looks are deceiving.  ;)  You would not be "stooping to his level", because he is too low to fight like a man, so you are still above him. Yes, I would have to figure out a way to get close & work out on his worthless head.

Amen, Dee! You can say what you like about me, my guns, my truck and maybe my dog (he can take care of himself), but mind your tongue around and about the lady folk.

Just a general plug, I'm sick of talking to young men cursing in front of my wife and daughter, or children in general. A society that doesn't respect its women doesn't respect itself.

Letterman has a history of not valuing women. He has now joined G. Gordon Liddy and Glenn Beck on NOW's hall of shame. I think that's hilarious.

What Todd Palin does is up to him and his wife to decide. With her situation in politics, I doubt she would want him to physically do anything to Letterman. Being her husband, I think he would respect her wishes. However, my wife won't be running for President any time soon, and if Letterman had said what he did about my wife or one of my granddaughters, he would have to have my shoe surgically removed from his ass before he could sit at his little desk to do his stupid talk show the next day.

I think it would be great for Mr. Palin to go on Letterman's show.
Then bitch slap him and spit in his face.
Then just commence to kick the living hell out of him on national TV!!!
I think it might even be good for some extra votes for Sara come election time again!

The business would then be assault, or that's what Todd would be charged with.  Then the civil suit would follow.

While I understand the desire, hitting Letterman would just open the door for more trouble for the Palins.

We all know what Letterman is.  He should be fired but CBS is such a liberal leaning network, and because the insult was against a white conservative, CBS doesn't care.

In a world that is run by decent common people yes. But in the world we live in Letterscum would be put up on a pedestal as a "victim" which is a high status with the liberal scum. Todd Palin would be arrested, tried and made an example of for attacking a BHO supporter.

First of all, Todd knows how to take care of business, and if Letterman was here in Alaska, Todd probably would have dealt with problem before Sara could have stopped it.  Would not recommend Letterman come to Alaska, he could get a one way hike in Grizzly country, right in downtown Anchorage.  Maybe we could convince Mr. Letterman into coming to Anchorage and taking him to Chilcoot Charlies, that would be fun to watch.  (For you non Alaskans, Chilcoot Charlie's is the roughest, meanest, Sourdough, Redneck, bar in Alaska, you take your life in your hands just by going in the front door).

But under the circumstances, Todd has to play by someones else's rules to keep Sara out of the bad lights.  The reporters would have a field day with that, if Todd did kick Dave's rear like it needs doing.  Guarantee, if Sara was not where she is right now Letterman's face would have already been pulp.

There have been over 20 ethics complaints made against Sara since she ran for the VP spot, a few involve Todd, and all turned in by three people.  15 or 16 of them have been dismissed already as being frivolous and groundless, since the rest were turned in by the same people as the others they too are expected to be dismissed as well.  Stupid things like Sara grabbing a coat as she rushed out the door to see Todd finish a race when it was -35 degrees.  Sara had been inside watching Gretta VanSestron's interview with Bristol.  The coat had Arctic Cat logos on it, so what.  The complaint was that Sara gained financially by wearing that coat, not in Fairbanks, no one noticed but the complainer.  Most people here wear coats that have either Ski-Doo, Arctic Cat, Yamaha, or John Deere on them, so no one cared or even noticed.

SHOOTALL, I see it for exactly what it is. I spent 20 years watching it for a living, and dealing with it. If someone insults YOUR WIFE, or child and I am around, don't fret the legal ramifications. I'll handle it for you. I am not afraid of the court system.
He can file on me for assault, but he'll still go home with his butt kicked, and when I get out of jail, I'll do it again. That's the problem nowadays. Men are afraid to be men, and stand up for their families and themselves.
THEIR AFRAID TO DO THE RIGHT THING BECAUSE THEIR AFRAID OF THE SYSTEM. THAT'S WHY JACKASSES LIKE LETTERMAN DO THINGS LIKE HE DID. HE KNOWS THERE ARE NO CONSEQUENCES.
I'm 60 years old, and pretty busted up from my past career, BUT! You insult my wife, my mother, my children, or a woman, or child or the elderly? It's still on brother. I have not been nurtured.
As far as Mr. Palin, I figure it's a calculated move on his part to sit back, but I still would like to be in the same room with him, if Letterman is unlucky enough to walk in without his security. Letterman and folks like him need their ass kicked. It appears SHOOTALL there are a few of us still out there.
18 or 81, an insult is an insult. If the old geezer is in his right mind like Letterman, he can't sling insults if his jaws are wired together, and while he's shuttin up, he might RE-THINK his comedy routine. ;)

Sourdough, I think Fox News said yesterday they had all been dismissed. That is another issue, when this kind of crap is filed for harassment purposes. It costs the accused a lot of money, and the accusers should also get a trip to the parking lot. This whole thing of LEGAL ACTION has gotten ridiculously expensive, and a damn lawyer can make you look like a fool in court JUST BECAUSE HE WANTS TO, while the bailiffs PROTECT HIM. That's why I have no use for lawyers of any kind either.

Dee you are correct Fox News did say that all charges against Sara Palin have been dismissed.  I heard that also.  And yes all charges have been dismissed that have been brought before the ethics commity so far.  But locally the Palin people are saying there are still more charges pending that have not been looked at yet.  And this person in Wasilla keeps making charges.  Now she is threatening to go to court over the dismissed complaints.  This woman is doing everything to destroy Sara Palins name.

I have heard, but can n ot confirm that this woman was one of the first ones to get fired by the Palin administration when Sara was elected mayor.

I think harrassment charges are long overdue.
