I  hunted  all day  after  work  today  battling  the  mosquitoes  and  heat   for  about  10  hrs  when  at  530  my  feeder  went  off  at  534  about  7 hogs  came  tyo  the  corn  and  started  among  them, was   my  boar  he  was very  ugly  only  about  220 lbs   but  you  could  tell  from  his  wounds  he  was  a  warrior  my  gun  was  a  NEF 45-70  and  the  load  was  a  405 cast  at  about  1350  these  were  given  to  me  by  my  friend  Rdnk,    i  squeezed  the  trigger   and  him  him  square  in  the  sholder   taking  out  the  lungs  and   both  shoulders  leaving  about  a 3-4  inch  exit  wound  it  was  unbelievable  to  see  this  type  of  destruction  the  pig  never squealed  or took  another  step
i  am  a  believer  in  these  45-70  for  pigs   and  am  going  to  hunt  more  this  week  i  have  a  520 gr  that  RDnk  gave  me  i  am  going  to  try  thanks  for  the  hlp  my  friend

recoil  is  manageble  fills    a  tad  harder   that  a  30-06   with   180 s  the  gun  is  light  no  scope   I  am  sure  with  full  grown  loads  it  would  really  belt  you,   i  have  found  out  with  the  probper  bulletsd   you  dont  need     for  it  toi  shoot  2000  with  a  400 gr  bullet  to  be  effective.  I  do  have  pics  as  soon  as  I finish  taking  this  roll  of  film
