There is a learning process to effectively using a gps.  Do not throw your compass and map away!

We were driving by Ft. Riely this spring and all of a sudden my GPS was worthless. 100 miles further down the road and all was normal again.

If it sends out an RF signal then the US has a weapon already that will lock on and home in on it and do so at over the horizon ranges so as to provide some protection to delivery craft from hostile enemy forces.  Unfortunately it isnt very effective against hardened targets as its primarily designed to target antena arrays used for weapons targeting and communication.  This how ever would be a fairly easy issue for Raytheon/Texas Insturments to address without a drastic redesign or additional technology that isnt already in wide spread use.
