And for those that want targets that you can see where you hit, take a white piece of card board and take a couple wraps of saran wrap around it. Spray it with black paint. At first it will fold it up a little but will lay flat. Great for the kids to shoot at and see where they are hitting. This info was posted a while back by another member on this forum. I think it was here.   ???

Not trying to hijack this thread but which target is everyone's style of target for sighting in a rifle at 100 yards?

I guess that kinda depends on what kind of gun you are shooting, and what your intended game is.  For deer/hog hunting with traditional cartridges such as .30-06, etc., I like targets with squares, kinda like "Bullseye with Grid."  I like being able to try and line up the target lines with the reticles on the scope.  This is difficult because the reticles are black just like the lines that make the squares, but on the scopes that I have that are illuminated, whether red or green, it becomes very easy.

I use the targets at US Palma.com.  They've got a bunch of printer-friendly targets.  They print on regular 8.5 X 11 paper and are very easy to keep in a 3-ring binder.

My favorite is the Long Range Scope Target B.   http://www.uspalma.com/Targets/PDFs/LR%20Scope%20Target%20B.pdf

I find that the .75" orange dots work real fine for sighting in at 100 yards. I also find them good for shooting groups for load development work.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.

I agree -  I had a target made with a simple 1" square graph printed on it and photostat it at the office. You should use 65lb-90lb paper but regular el-cheapo paper works too. Then I just add 2 of the flo orange dots that are available from Staples. They come in .75" and 1.25"; both work great.

for sighting in a new rifle or scope i like a big sheet of butcher paper with a small stickem dot at 25 yards,

Then at 100 a 8 inch orange peel circle with 1 inch rings and vertical and horizontal crosshairs in green.

Same for 200 and 400 on a butcher paper back ground

I forgot to say thanks for the post and info boshtank I'm saving it in bookmarks
