10-4 on your daughter being at home and safe. And I was just "pokin the bear" with the French gun line. When my oldest daughter was a senior in high school, we sent her off on a 2 week stint to France with a bunch of high school kids, their french teacher and a few chaperons. I always knew her teacher was a ditz, and the trip in a way proved it.
Of course, my daughter at the time being 18...was as naive as they came. Anyway, she had a credit card with her name on it (my card....my daughters name on it) and sure enough....as many times as I warned her of pick-pockets, (you would think kids would listen...eh?..
) didn't she get her purse perused by someone with jelly on their fingers!!! (Her teacher called me.....what a ditz....took me 5 minutes to tell her to shutup, get off the phone so I can call the credit card company....and I was being nice!!)
So, I did call the credit card company. Within 20 minutes the thieves had charged overe $17,000 of merchandise on the card. Yeah.....my limit was $20,000...and I never carry a balance. They bought watches, furs, and stuff that they could easily re-sell.
And no....it didn't cost me a dime. And my daughter grew up a bit on that trip.
I hope your daughter grew in ways that you never had a chance to at that age. I know mine did. She is now 27 and starting this fall, she is going for her Doctoral degree in "English and Rhetoric". (In what???) Yeah....the college is waiving her tuition, and paying her to go to school. What a deal. When she is done she will teach college.
AND....she can shoot a gun!!! And she believes in the second amendment!!!!! Still a bit on the liberal side.....but you'll have that with youth!!!
