I bought a used Contender pistol in 223 about 2 months ago and found it had some issues.  First, it's armor alloy, not SS so my blued barrels won't work.  Then I noticed the locking lugs were galling the firing pin bushing badly.  Also, the extractor was bent and scratching the heck outta my brass.  I sent it to TC on June 5th and received it back yesterday the 18th.  They opened up the hinge pin hole to accept my blued barrels and gave me a new SS pin.  They also replaced the locking bolts and bent extractor.  They went a step further and replaced all the springs and interlock safety.

All this FREE OF CHARGE and in 13 days at that.  Thumbs way up for TC.

Glad to hear of your good fortune.  T/C did have a good customer service program years ago.  Glad they are back at it again.

My problems were with the product, Encore.  My opinion of this gun is not good.  My G2 Contender on the other hand, along with my eight barrels, is the ultimate shooting system.  All barrels are tack drivers and very dependable.

Just to add my 2 cents.  I needed a screw for my T/C and they got it off to me free of charge.  Delightful people to deal with and very professional service.

Ditto!  My dad was given an old 10" 30-30 barrel that some dummy had literally ground away part of the locking bolts for some reason  (I guess that why it was given to him, huh?).  I called Thompson Center and told them about it, and that I wished to purchase new locking bolts.  The nice lady's reply was "No charge, we'll drop a replacement set into the mail for you".

How's that?  I'll be a TC fan for quite a while!

I have been a fan of TC for many years..
As a young hunter a friend took me hunting..
Totally Dark. Pointed in the general direction and told find a tree near the creek.. Climbed a tree sight unseen.. Come morning light I see that I am 30 to 40 ft up and decide I need to get a little lower . Turn to move the stand down. Stand breaks and I drop my new TC 45 ML to the ground.
Get home, take all the brass off my broken rifle stock. Wrap it up send it to TC along with a note telling them what happened and to replace the stock (I Have the brass) and call me for payment..
2 weeks later I get a new stock complete with brass and a note saying sorry you had the trouble  NO CHARGE..
won my heart that day..
Thats been many years ago .. To this day I recommend TC to all my shooting buddies.. And I own a gun store..

They were bought by S&W weren't they?  That might have something to do with it I suppose.

POLISHING, not grinding away, the locking bolts will sometimes allow newer barrels to work on the very very early frames...perhaps frames from 73 back to 67

I bought a used frame a while ago that was missing the nose pin, on the hammer, for the center fire firing pin. Also the trigger wouldn't adjust very well. Sent to T/C on the 21st of July and received it today 9 days later. The paper work says, " Replaced hammer firing pins, and trigger spring, tested."  Looks like the whole hammer is new and the trigger adjusts like my other frames. All for no charge. I'm a happy camper.

Cool deal on the TC work. Glad to hear that part of the company is running good again. Now if the custom shop would just follow suit.

My story is a little simpler:  I recently got a Super 14" Hunter barrel in .223 for my old style Contender.  I bought it used, but it's in such good shape it might as well be new.  The thing that gets me about it is the quality of the finish: I thought bluing like that was a thing of the past.  I collect older S&W revolvers, and have some examples of really nice finishes from the days they actually cared about such things.  I never thought I'd see another one until this Contender barrel arrived.  It's gorgeous, and looks deep enough to swim around in.
